FREESKATE USA WHERE FREESAIL AND ICE MEET FREESKATING Freeskating was created to simulate shortboard windsurfing on the hard water. Carving jibes and tacks along with many other sailhandling tricks can easily be learned on the one dimensional flat surface of the ice. The Freeskate performs just as a short board would on water, greatly enhancing your on water skills all winter long. 15 YEARS of working with icesailing craft and several prototypes later the 3rd generation is on the ice and moving faster than ever. This V3 FREESKATE is faster, more stable and easier to use than ever before. SPECIFICATIONS: Length: 4' 11" Nose width 12" tail width l4" Overall width 17" PRICE: $ 899.00 Complete w/ spans and blades ready to sail DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS Stiffness of the board has been improved by adding a molded in rib under the centerline, running from the front steering truck to the back following truck. In addition small bulkheads at the nose and tail run perpendicular to the molded rib, cross bracing the board and locking together the stiffness. This in turn provides reduction of lateral twist in the board and an overall stiffer, straighter flow of the board across the ice, and a quicker, more stable feel when turning. It also allows the board to pinch upwind tighter and with more control and less effort. The V3 FREESKATE also has a new Ergonomic Deck design. The upturned rail buckets that run the entire length of the board are now deepest at the tail of the board. This allows the sailor to fine tune the steering of the board by pressing on the upturned vertical rail surface, using the whole bottom of the foot to apply pressure for steering without your foot slipping or moving. Now those big old winter boots won't ever slip over the leeward rail again. This also gives you better control in higher winds and light snow cover. The V3 FREESKATE also has a mast track incorporated into the deck for easy mounting of your rig and allows fine tuning of sail position adjustment and sliding mast track option for different ice and snow conditions and course racing. PRODUCTION SPECIFICATIONS V-3 FREESKATE: Divinicell Foam Core sandwich construction with four layers CDB-340 at 34 oz per layer fiberglass, sandwiching a layer of 5 oz carbon fiber, vacuum molded at 20 lbs.psi, in Inter plastics vinylester resin, post cured at 150 degrees. The vacuum molding and the post cure tighten the matrix of the Vinylester resin so well that the board is stiffer and stronger using less material therefore saving weight. V-3 BLADE SPANS: sphere core sandwich construction with ten layers Burlington l0/l0oz. woven and sewn fiberglass, inter laid with 6 oz carbon fiber, Hand laid and post cured at 150 degrees. The V-3 molded carbon fiber blade span is a light weight, stiff, strong addition to the FREESKATE. The front one is 15" wide for steering and the rear one is 20" wide for stability and tracking. Precision molded to make your blades run parallel and at right angles to the ice, These spans are integrated into regular skateboard trucks. This gives the width for stability and the turnability of the skateboard all in one. Smaller areas can now be ridden with more control and stability. Available for TRACKER, and INDEPENDENT trucks, with marine grade stainless steel hardware. PRICE: $250.00 PER SET BLADE TECH: Standard blades are 13" in length, 2" high, 1/4 inch cold rolled steel with a 90 degree angle to the ice, milled and rockered edge for performance. The cold rolled steel makes for easy sharpening. Pre drilled and ready to mount and use. Race Blades are 18" long, 2" high 1/4 inch Cold rolled steel. Longer blades give more tracking for more speed and better upwind ability. These blades are special order.
